The Role

Join our team as a Data Engineer and Power Platform Developer to create solutions that simplify how colleagues work and improve services delivered to customers. This is a hands-on opportunity to combine Power Platform development with data engineering, taking solutions from initial discovery through to live use and ongoing improvement.

You'll work directly with users to understand their challenges, identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and develop secure, intuitive solutions that deliver measurable value.

Using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure and SQL, you'll build applications, automate processes and connect information across business systems.

You'll own the full solution lifecycle, from discovery and prototyping to testing, release, adoption and support. Alongside developing new solutions, you'll maintain and improve existing applications, ensuring they remain reliable, secure and easy to use.

What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with business users to understand process challenges and translate their needs into clear solution designs, development priorities and acceptance criteria
• Design, build and support canvas and model-driven Power Apps, Power Automate workflows and Dataverse solutions, with a focus on accessible, intuitive experiences supported by reusable components and consistent development standards
• Build and maintain data pipelines, models and integrations using Microsoft Fabric, Azure and SQL
• Connect solutions to Microsoft 365 and relevant business systems, improving data quality, consistency and traceability
• Apply appropriate security controls, testing, documentation, source control and deployment practices, contributing to Power Platform governance and environment management
• Diagnose issues, support users and monitor adoption and performance once solutions are live
• Use feedback to refine solutions and ensure they continue to meet business needs

What You'll Bring

• Practical experience delivering Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse solutions into live use
• Experience in data engineering, SQL and integrating information from multiple sources
• Comfort working directly with users, taking ownership of a business problem and following it through to a solution
• Strong knowledge of: Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Microsoft 365 integration
• Working knowledge of: Microsoft Fabric, Azure and SQL
• Experience building, maintaining and improving applications and automated workflows
• Understanding of application security, environment management, testing, deployment and support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical focus on user needs
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues
• Attention to detail and a commitment to secure, sustainable and supportable solutions

Desirable:

• Knowledge of APIs, middleware, Azure integration services and application lifecycle management
• Experience in facilities management, Defence, asset-intensive services or another regulated environment
• A relevant degree or technical qualification (although expertise developed through practical professional experience is equally valued)

Location and Working Arrangements

• Location: Hybrid / Home-based, with some travel across the UK
• Working arrangements: We welcome discussions about flexible working days and hours, including applications from candidates seeking a four-day working week
• Flexibility may occasionally be needed to support important releases, incidents or operational deadlines

Security Clearance

You'll need to hold, or be willing to obtain, the security clearance required to work within Defence environments.
