What do US Power Platform adverts pay?

Power Platform is the biggest pay sample on D365 Market. On 5 November 2026 we had 71 US adverts with a stated salary, from 52 employers. The median was $126,800. A quarter paid $105,000 or less, and a quarter paid $161,295 or more. These are advertised salaries, not what people actually take home. They also lean toward states with pay transparency laws, such as California, Colorado, New York and Washington, because adverts there have to show a range.

Seniority explains most of the spread. Mid-level adverts had a median of $114,350 across 44 roles. Senior adverts had a median of $159,050 across 18 roles. That gap of about $45,000 is the difference between building apps and flows from someone else's design and owning the design: Dataverse data models, environment strategy, ALM pipelines and the integrations into Dynamics 365 or Azure. Titles tell you less than the job description. Read the description for who makes those calls.

How does Power Platform pay compare with Dynamics 365?

In US adverts, Power Platform pays less than the wider Dynamics 365 market. Dynamics 365 adverts had a median of $153,050 across 48 roles, which is about $26,000 more than Power Platform. Dynamics 365 Finance adverts had a median of $165,295. Developer adverts on the site had a median of $125,000, close to Power Platform. So the difference shows up mainly in consulting and lead roles, not in build roles.

The UK shows a smaller version of the same pattern. IT Jobs Watch puts the median permanent salary at £65,000 for adverts citing Dynamics 365 and £56,000 for Power Platform. Contract rates are almost the same: £509 a day for Dynamics 365 and £500 for Power Platform. In my experience, the people who earn most are the ones who can do both. They build in Power Apps and Power Automate, and they also understand the Dynamics 365 app sitting on the same Dataverse.

What do UK Power Platform developers and consultants earn?

IT Jobs Watch counted 2,489 UK permanent salaries citing Power Platform in the six months to 5 November 2026. The middle half ran from £43,348 to £75,000. Adverts with the Power Platform Developer title had a median of £55,000, with a middle half from £50,000 to £65,000, across 197 salaries. Power Platform Consultant adverts had a median of £65,000, with a middle half from £55,000 to £75,000, across 78 salaries.

Contractors see similar figures across job titles. Adverts citing the Power Platform skill had a median of £500 a day, with a middle half from £413 to £600, across 1,677 rates. Power Platform Developer contracts also had a median of £500 a day, with a middle half from £436 to £544, across 87 rates. All of these are advertised rates. Gaps between contracts, and the cost of running your own company, bring the real annual figure down.

Which certifications matter for pay?

No certification sets your pay. Many partners still ask for one, though, because Microsoft partner programs count certified staff. Microsoft Learn lists the Power Platform Developer Associate as an intermediate certification. It covers custom user experiences, integrations, Power Fx, Power Automate expressions and ALM. The exam is proctored, you get 100 minutes, and the certification renews every 12 months.

Check that any certification you plan to take is still offered. Microsoft retired the Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate, along with its exam and renewal assessments, on August 31, 2026. If you are deciding what to study now, start with the certifications that are still live, such as PL-900 Power Platform Fundamentals, the Developer Associate, and the new AB-series AI builder certifications.
