About the Role

Hitachi Solutions is seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Functional Consultant specializing in Finance and Project Management & Accounting (PMA). The consultant will be responsible for leading business process discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, user training, and successful implementation of Dynamics 365 Finance and Project Accounting solutions across global customer engagements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting and project accounting knowledge, extensive D365 Finance implementation experience, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Conduct workshops to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Perform Fit-Gap Analysis and recommend D365 standard capabilities and best practices.
• Design end-to-end Finance and Project Accounting solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDD), Solution Design Documents (SDD), User Stories, Process Flows, and Configuration Workbooks.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technical Consultants on integrations, reporting, and customizations.
• Develop customized solutions to complex business problems.
• Demonstrate consultancy experience.
• Apply strong working knowledge of business processes.
• Maintain relevant Microsoft certification.
• Demonstrate excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Apply logical approach to problem solving and structured introduction of change into operational systems.

Configure and validate Project Accounting / PMA modules:

• Project Management & Accounting
• Project Contracts
• Time & Expense Management
• Project Costing
• Revenue Recognition
• Resource Management
• Project Billing
• Funding Sources
• Forecasting & Budget Control
• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Management

Implementation Delivery

• Lead finance and PMA workstreams through all project phases: Discovery, Solution Blueprint, Design, Build, SIT, UAT, Training, Cutover, Go-Live, Hypercare Support.
• Drive client decision-making during process walkthroughs and design reviews.
• Identify software gaps and propose configuration, extensions, integrations, or reporting solutions.
• Support global and multi-legal entity deployments.
• Ensure adherence to Hitachi Solutions implementation methodology and governance.

Data Migration & Integrations

• Define migration strategy and mapping documents.
• Validate migrated master and transactional data.
• Support data cleansing and reconciliation activities.
• Collaborate with technical teams for integration design and testing.
• Support financial system integrations involving banking, payroll, procurement, project management, and third-party applications.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Prepare test scenarios and business process scripts.
• Support Conference Room Pilots (CRP).
• Execute System Integration Testing (SIT).
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Ensure solution quality and adherence to customer requirements.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• MBA, CA, CMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.

Experience

• Functional Consultant: 4+ years
• Senior Functional Consultant: 6+ years
• Functional Lead: 10+ years

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310)
• Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert (MB-700)
