Functional consulting often begins before a solution exists. You need to ask about needs, compare options, configure a process, and guide testing and adoption.

The gap is usually broader delivery ownership. A good support record helps, but it may not show workshop or implementation experience.

Choose a bridge assignment

Ask to join a small improvement from discovery to release. Start with a process related to incidents you already understand.

Work with a consultant to agree requirements, review configuration, and plan tests. Ask for feedback on the decisions as well as the output.

Record the result after users start using the change. This helps you show how support knowledge improved delivery.

Build evidence

Your CV should separate incident handling from improvement delivery. State the scope you owned and who approved the design.
